About Us
Camrose Public Library is an award-winning library located in Camrose Alberta, a small city located one hour south-east of Edmonton. CPL was founded in 1919, and has occupied numerous buildings in town, including the Canada Club building on Mainstreet. In 1980, CPL moved into our own building in our current location. We are proud to serve the residents of the City of Camrose, and Camrose County, which hosts a combined population of 27,276 people as of 2021.
CPL hosts the largest collection in the Parkland Regional Library System, and provides an abundance of programs, services and opportunities for our surrounding communities. We see over 100,000 visits a year, host about 4 programs a day, and answer over 27 questions every hour (as of 2024).
Recently, Camrose Public Library has won the:

- 2018 Alberta Library Trustees' Association's Award of Excellence
- 2018 Minister's Awards for Public Library Boards for our Snacks in the Stacks Program
- 2016 Minister's Awards for Public Library Boards for our Book Bike program
