Friends of the Sundre Municipal Library is a not-for-profit organization that supports the library by raising funds to help purchase library shelving, furniture and by helping provide books, programs and services. The Friends are dedicated volunteers who believe that the library is a vital part of the Sundre community. Their main focus is increasing awareness of the library through fundraising, promotion and volunteering. The Friends are always happy to welcome new members; if you love your library and want to make a difference, become a Friend today.
How Have Friends Helped?
Because of the additional funding the Friends have raised the library has been able to:
• Purchase new shelving for our children’s room
• Help fund our programs like the Writing With Chocolate Take & Make Kits, Everyday Superhero teen program, and Lego Club
• Purchase a cabinet to house our children’s DVD’s and a display cabinet for our NEW books and DVDS
• Facilitate library space upgrades including new bulletin boards and upgrades to our coffee area
• Purchase an enclosure and cabinet for the 3D printer
• Purchase library materials to expand our collection of “Great Courses” DVDs and texts and DVD/Audiobooks
• Get our Book Depot Program off the ground
Volunteer
Joining the Friends is a great way to connect with others who want to help make our library the best it can be. The more people, the more ideas!!! You can be an active member or be on our volunteer list to help out at events. Spread the word! If you know of someone that would be a good fit to join us, let them know.
