About Us

Our motto is Innisfail's community living room, we strive to be that for the residents of Innisfail and Red Deer County. We want the library to be welcoming community gathering place that is a hub for learning, information, and interaction. The current building that houses the library opened in 2012 and is 19,375 square feet with the library covering 7,700 square feet. The building also houses a 3,900 square foot community room that is rented out by the Town if Innisfail and the Henday Association for Life Long Learning, that runs ESL (English as a Second Language) courses, Technology Help Classes, High School Equivalency Diploma courses, and so much more. Innisfail is situated just off the west side of the QE2. We are about 26 minutes away from Red Deer, 1.5 hours from Calgary and 2 hours from Edmonton.

The Innisfail Library was first established in 1904 due to the demand of the residents and has served the public for 120 years and we hope to keep serving the public for 120 more. We have been a proud member of the Parkland Regional Library System since 1959, a cooperative of 48 public libraries across central Alberta. With your library membership, you are a member of 48 other unique libraries and have access to their services too. We also participate in Alberta-wide borrowing, this means that you can borrow item from any library in Alberta.
