Job Title: Adult Learning Coordinator

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Adult Learning Coordinator to join our team. The primary focus of this role will be to develop and nurture an English Language Learning (ELL) community within Mountain View County, while also establishing and managing a comprehensive Tutoring Database for a wide range of topics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage and support adult learners within the ELL community throughout Mountain View County
  • Plan and coordinate ELL workshops, classes, and events to address the diverse learning needs of participants.
  • Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and community groups to promote ELL initiatives and resources.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and tutors for the ELL programs as well as other basic academic topics including the creation and maintenance of a Tutoring Database, including tutor profiles, subject areas, availability, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Match learners with suitable tutors based on their needs, preferences, and availability.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes and make recommendations for continuous improvement in each community.
  • Develop marketing materials in partnership with other library staff to raise awareness of ELL programs and services.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to program activities and outcomes.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience working in adult education, community development, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding teaching methodologies, particularly in the context of adult learners and ELL programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management software.
  • Knowledge of local resources and networks in Mountain View County is an asset.
  • Required to travel between communities, valid driver’s license and has own transportation.

Compensation:
14 hrs/week | 22.40/hour
August 1 , 2024 - June 30, 2027 with possible continuation. Position contingent on Grant Funding

Request for Proposals: Yard Maintenance Services

Olds Municipal Library is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced vendors to provide comprehensive yard maintenance services, including snow removal, grass mowing, tree and shrub maintenance, and weed removal. The selected vendor will be responsible for ensuring that the library's outdoor spaces are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing throughout the year.

Scope of Work:

Grass Mowing

  • Regular mowing of the library's lawn areas to maintain a neat and tidy appearance.
  • Trimming around edges and obstacles for a clean finish.

Tree and Shrub Maintenance

  • Pruning of trees and shrubs as needed to promote healthy growth and maintain shape.
  • Removal of dead or diseased branches for safety and aesthetic purposes.

Weed Removal

  • Regular inspection and removal of weeds from lawn, flower beds, and other landscaped areas.
  • Application of appropriate weed control measures to prevent weed growth within Town of Olds bylaws.

Proposal Requirements:

Interested vendors are requested to submit the following information:

  • Company Profile: Provide an overview of your company, including years of experience in providing yard maintenance services and any relevant certifications or accreditations.
  • Proposed Services: Detail the services you will provide, including frequency of visits and any additional services offered.
  • Cost Breakdown: Submit a monthly cost breakdown for each service included in the proposal, including any applicable taxes or fees.
  • References: Provide references from past clients who can attest to the quality of your work and reliability.
  • Insurance: Provide proof of insurance coverage, including liability and workers' compensation insurance.

Olds Municipal Library reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to negotiate separately with one or more vendors. The selected vendor will be required to enter into a formal agreement with the library outlining the terms and conditions of the services to be provided.
